Nakasendo Way: Kisoji Walking Route Guide
The attraction of KisojiKisoji starts northward from this stone monument. Each post town along Kisoji still has houses that retain the atmosphere of the Edo period, and you can feel the unique atmosphere of a time slip to the Edo period. The attraction of Kisoji is not limited to each post town. Kisoji is a way in the valleys of the mountains, so you can see the wonderful views of the mountains while walking. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river along Narai River and Kiso River. There are trails in the woods and there are also temples and shrines along the way outside the post town. Kisoji is a fun and varied way. There are also hiking trails called Torii Pass and Magome Pass which are popular among foreign tourists. Let's walk along Kisoji!
Kisoji Walking Route Guide
You can get a brochure called "SINSYU KISOJI NAKASENDO WALKING MAP" issued by Kiso Tourist Federation at the tourist information center of each post town along Kisoji. On the basis of the brochure, I wrote the articles that show you the way with the pictures taken by me while walking along Kisoji.
